Sunday Post - 80 & Sttacking the Shelves - 50

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Well this was a good week work wise. Unfortunately, I'm sick. It's not sinuses, because it seems to be more in my chest. Hopefully the meds will get to work and kick this infection to the curb soon. I did FINALLY read my first series ender this past week. So I'm excited that I've officially made progress to the Series Enders Reading Challenge. It's not too later to sign up. See below or my side button for more details. Also totally cheesy, but Husband wrote on the bathroom mirror yesterday afternoon and I just saw it getting out of the shower today. It said "You're beautiful. I love you." Simple, but one of the sweetest things I've experienced in a while. I'm still grinning like an idiot because of it. He's a keeper, that one.

THIS PAST WEEK:

Monday: Review of The Destiny of Violet & Luke (The Coincidence, # 3) by Jessica Sorensen (4 Stars)
Wednesday: Waiting on Take a Chance by Abbi Glines (Rosemary Beach, # 6, Chance, # 1)
Thursday: Review of The Distance Between Us by Kasie West (4 Stars)
Friday: Review of The False Prince (The Ascendance Trilogy, # 1) by Jennifer A Nielsen (4 Stars)

UPCOMING THIS WEEK:

Monday: Review of Before We Fall (Beautifully Broken, # 3) by Courtney Cole
Tuesday: Top Ten Things/Topics/Situations/Etc on my Reading Wish List
Wednesday: Waiting on Wednesday
Thursday: Review of Reasons for Breathing (The Breathing Series, # 1) by Rebecca Donovan
Friday: Upon Further Review: Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, # 5) by Richelle Mead

Don't forget to sign up for the 2014 Series Enders Reading Challenge! Each month there will be a giveaway for those participating with a BIG giveaway at the end of the year! Click on the picture below or the link above to find out more!

Goodreads description--Jessica Sweet thought going away to college would finally make her free of her parents’ constant judgments and insistence she play chastity club role model for their church events, but if anything, the freedom has made her realize she can’t go home and be a hypocrite anymore. Tired of dodging their questions, she stays at school over the summer and lands in an unexpected crash pad: Riley Mann’s house.

Sarcastic, cocky, and full of opinions, Riley is also sexy personified with tattoos and biceps earned from working as a roofer all day. Not the right guy for her even if Jessica was looking for a relationship, which she is definitely not. But Jessica knows that Riley hides the burden of having to raise his younger brothers behind that grin and as she helps him get his house in order for a custody hearing, they begin to fall hard for each other, and she is forced to question what she’s hiding herself.

Goodreads description--Robin used to be a party girl… until she got black out drunk and woke up in bed with her best friend's boyfriend. Now she's faced with being THAT girl, and couldn't be more disgusted with herself. She can't even tell her friends the reason for her sudden sobriety and she avoids everyone until she meets Phoenix—quiet, tattooed, and different in every way that's good and oh, so bad…

Phoenix is two days out of jail when he meets Robin at his cousin's house, and he knows that he has no business talking to her, but he's drawn to her quiet demeanor, sweet smile, and artistic talent. She doesn't care that he's done time, or that he only has five bucks to his name, and she supports his goal to be a tattoo artist.

But Phoenix knows Robin has a secret, and that it's a naïve dream to believe that his record won't catch up with them at some point. Though neither is prepared for the explosive result when the past collides with the present…

That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!

Sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon! Yes he's a keeper. My husband once told me while I was sitting on the couch reading and he was staring at me then said, "I love that you read" Such a simple sentence but I thought it was so sweet.

Love the covers of those books...very nice! Enjoy!

    Have a great week!

  11. I'm sorry you've been sick! I hope you feel better soon.

The Series Ender challenge sounds interesting, except so many of my series are open-ended, I'd have a tough time. Have a great time with it, though!

Now I'm off to check out your review of The False Prince!

  15. Well, what he wrote is much better than the things my daughter leaves for us on our mirrors that only show up when they fog up, such as "I see you pooping." *sigh* Kids. Hope you feel better and have a great week!
