Sunday Post - 194 & Stacking the Shelves - 138

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Monday I took Baby Girl to work to see Daddy. Since that's where I used to work too and my entire family still works there we had many people to see. Unfortunately we didn't get around to everyone. Not much else happened this week. My husband's sister and family are here this weekend to celebrate Mother's Day, and we're having my family over to our house for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom. So I've spent time this week cleaning house and prepping for that. Also today is my 7th wedding anniversary. Husband and I have known each other for almost 12 years. It amazes me how fast time goes. I know in the blink of an eye I'll be looking back on my 12 year old baby girl (and Lord willing other children). I pray everyone has a Happy Mother's Day...celebrating their own mothers or being celebrated as a mother.

Goodreads description--Every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

If only it was that simple. Katharine is unable to tolerate the weakest poison, and Arsinoe, no matter how hard she tries, can’t make even a weed grow. The two queens have been shamefully faking their powers, taking care to keep each other, the island, and their powerful sister Mirabella none the wiser. But with alliances being formed, betrayals taking shape, and ruthless revenge haunting the queens’ every move, one thing is certain: the last queen standing might not be the strongest…but she may be the darkest.

That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!
